Gloucester Folk Museum

By competitive interview we were appointed by Gloucester City Council to develop an outline design to create an education centre and Victorian classroom at the museum and see the project through to its conclusion, while meeting the requirements of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The work was designed in two phases, the first comprised alterations within the existing buildings to form a café. The second was the design of a new education building at the rear entrance to the site with workshop space over and alterations to the adjoining Listed Building to recreate a Victorian Schoolroom at first floor level with changing rooms and toilets under.

The courtyard between the new building and existing museum was landscaped to create an external education and events space.
